Julie is one of our wonderful Care Supervisors, based here in South Cumbria, supporting our teams across Ulverston, Barrow, and Millom. Around the office, she’s affectionately known as “The Matron” – not just for her experience, but for the way she nurtures everyone around her. From new carers starting out, to the clients she supports, and even her local Scout troop, Julie’s got a gift for helping people (and plants!) thrive.

Recently, Julie became the proud owner of something she’d been dreaming about for ages – her very own greenhouse. A peaceful little spot to unwind, grow her favourite plants, and enjoy some well-earned time in the garden.
And it was made possible sooner than expected thanks to Lakeland Care’s Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) bonus – a financial reward for the incredible work she does day in and day out.

And when she’s not supporting her team or checking in on clients, she’s volunteering as a Scout Leader, passing on life skills, laughs, and the occasional expertly tied knot.
